Durango Soda Company: Making an Impact with Craft Soda in Durango, Colorado | Dan Aggeler

Making-an-Impact-with-Craft-Soda-in-durango-coloradoToday we are joined by Dan Aggeler, co-founder of Durango Soda Company, the makers of Zuberfizz.

Dan Aggeler and Banden Zuber began home brewing in college and eventually became commercial brew masters. Using that brewing knowledge, they noticed the demand for craft products and came to the idea of craft soda.

They decided to create sodas using the best ingredients and packaging available, similar to the micro-brew industries around them. They use pure cane sugar, making their sodas much healthier than commercialized brands. Durango Soda Company also ensures their packaging is environmentally friendly by using glass bottles for all of their products.
Zuberfizz is now available across the United States and has expanded into larger markets such as Safeway, Albertsons, King Sooper’s and more.

This week on Small Business War Stories, Dan Aggeler joins us from Durango, Colorado.

Three reasons to tune in this week:

  • Learn why big companies switched from pure cane sugar to high fructose corn syrup.
  • Hear about how Durango Soda Company bounced back after being taken advantage of by a distributor.
  • Learn how starting locally benefited Durango Soda Company.
